Privacy Policy
Last updated: [DD Month YYYY]
This Privacy Policy explains how [Your Company] (“we”, “us”, or “our”) collects, uses and protects information when you use DevOps Studio (the “Software”) and our website (devops-studio.mydeskbot.com).
1. Information We Collect
- Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and an encrypted password (or a GitHub identity if you sign in with GitHub).
- Subscription and order information. When you purchase a subscription, the payment provider (Paddle) collects billing details on our behalf. We receive subscription status, plan and order references so we can activate and manage your license.
- Diagnostic information (optional). With your consent, the Software may send anonymized crash reports and basic usage statistics (e.g. app version, OS version) to help us improve stability. You can disable this in Settings.
- Support correspondence. If you contact us, we keep records of the conversation.
2. Important: Your Server Data Stays on Your Machine
The Software is a desktop application. Server connections, credentials, terminal sessions, runbooks and audit
logs are stored locally on your device by default. Your infrastructure data is not uploaded to
our servers. Only account and subscription data described above is transmitted to our API
(api.mydeskbot.com).
3. How We Use Information
- To create and manage your account and authenticate you;
- To validate your subscription and provide licensed features;
- To provide customer support;
- To improve the Software (using aggregated, non-identifying data);
- To comply with legal obligations.
4. Payment Processing (Paddle)
We use Paddle as our Merchant of Record to process payments. Paddle collects and processes your billing information (name, email, payment method) under its own Privacy Policy. We do not store or have access to your full payment card details.
5. Cookies and Analytics
Our marketing website does not use tracking cookies. We may use privacy-respecting, aggregate analytics to understand site traffic. You can block analytics in your browser without affecting the site.
6. Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. You may delete your account at any time by contacting us; we will delete or anonymize your personal data within a reasonable period, unless we are required by law to retain it.
7. Your Rights
Depending on your location (including under the GDPR or CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, delete or port your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at support@mydeskbot.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
8. Data Security
We use industry-standard measures to protect your data in transit (TLS) and at rest. Passwords are stored as salted hashes and never in plain text. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children’s Privacy
The Software is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Material changes will be communicated to you where appropriate.
